About the Role

Our client is seeking a freelance 3D animator for a project which is inspired by the classic game Super Mario Kart. The project involves creating both in-game and cinematic animations, with a style similar to that of Super Mario Kart. This is a single job opportunity, but it is expected to extend for more than a week. The animator can work remotely on the assigned tasks. The final delivery of the project should be completed within two weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project owner to understand the creative vision and animation requirements
• Create high-quality 3D character animations for in-game and cinematic sequences
• Ensure that the animations are consistent with the Super Mario Kart art style and aesthetic
• Animate various character actions, such as running, jumping, and interacting with objects
• Develop cinematic animations to enhance the storytelling and overall experience
• Implement appropriate lighting, texturing, and rendering techniques
• Optimise animations for smooth performance and integration into the game engine
  

Requirements

• Beginner-level experience in 3D animation, with a strong foundation in animation principles
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max)
• Knowledge of character rigging and animation techniques
• Familiarity with game engine integration (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is a plus
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to follow style guides and reference materials
