What began in 1997 as a non-profit organization known as TRUSTe has grown into TrustArc, a leading privacy compliance technology company headquartered in Walnut Creek, California. Founded by Lori Fena and Charles Jennings in response to emerging privacy concerns during the rise of the internet, TrustArc now specializes in providing innovative solutions that help organizations navigate the intricate landscape of data privacy management.

In its early years, TrustArc pioneered privacy certification programs, became one of the first organizations to comply with the EU Safe Harbor framework, and established itself as a vital resource for companies looking to manage their online privacy commitments effectively. Over the years, as data privacy regulations have evolved globally, so too has TrustArc, evolving from a non-profit association to a vibrant, for-profit entity that combines expertise in privacy regulation with cutting-edge technology. The company's platform allows businesses to ensure compliance across various global regulations while fostering consumer trust. Today, TrustArc serves more than 1,500 organizations, leveraging automation to simplify compliance and enhance data governance, thereby positioning itself at the forefront of responsible data practices in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
