Position Overview

The Program Manager position is a leadership position with broad responsibility across the organization driving and executing technical programs. The position will be responsible to plan, execute, deliver, and provide reporting on complex programs according to strict deadlines and budgets while delivering project objectives. This will include but will not be limited to defining and holding to project scope, meeting specification requirements, engaging in and leading cross functional and intradepartmental communication, schedule and issue tracking, risk management decisions and communication, and overall economics of the projects using a defined Project Management Process.

This individual will work closely with senior management, cross functional project team members and other Program Managers to steer the projects and functional departments toward achieving intended technical and commercial results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership skills, a positive attitude, strong organizational and teamwork skills, attention to details, and a positive sense of urgency. Additionally, they will have proven self-directed project management skills and experience with project and product lifecycle activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, plan, and execute moderate to large projects, accounting for all aspects and deliverables necessary to achieve the projects’ objectives on time and within budget.
  • Make regular decisions (independently and with the cross-functional team) which are related to successful implementation of projects based on the defined Project Management Process (PMP). Those decisions can relate to technical approach, business considerations, and defining priorities, among others.
  • Provide technical guidance and overall risk analysis for projects. Identify, investigate, and implement mitigations and solutions to key risks with a sense of urgency by working with the associated project teams and management.
  • Serve as a group leader and be capable of highly effective communication and collaboration with highly skilled and diverse teams to make sound decisions and execute plans quickly and efficiently to preserve project performance metrics.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any deviations, corrective actions, and countermeasures and communicate these to all team members and executive management.
  • Play a key role in enforcement of product lifecycle and product/process development processes across the organization influencing cultural adoption as well as rigorous execution. Makes recommended changes to continuously improve that process.
  • Formalize approval for the project phases by ensuring that the exit gate deliverables comply with the agreed exit criteria list, level of completion, and organizational procedures.
  • Coordinate the interaction and documentation processes between departments, customers, and organizational leaders to effectively manage multiple high impact, high visibility, and strategic cross-functional projects in parallel.
  • Create project-based communications (i.e., meeting minutes, project playbook, and project schedule) and distribute information as appropriate.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations, priorities, and urgency with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Personally, and proactively provide relevant and appropriate communication regarding project status and progress to management.

  • Proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical, business, engineering or other related field
  • Minimum two years of Program Management experience
  • Minimum two years of manufacturing experience
  • Microsoft Project Software Experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to travel as needed
