The Credit Underwriter III is adynamic global credit risk role within a best-in-class risk team, helping drive sustainable growth while managing risk to prescribed levels. They are responsible for analyzing and supporting credit decisions for larger public or privately held businesses across several industries and geographic locations, ensuring decisions are rendered timely and within stated risk appetite. They collaborate across multiple risk and business teams to meet client credit needs while proactively ensuring a robust culture of compliance with risk appetite.
Responsibilities:
oEvaluate international, multi-industry commercial credit applicants for creditworthiness, assessing complex financial documents, industry/country risks, and payment behavior profiles.
oLeverage internal and external data to assess risk and creditworthiness.
oProvide structure and decision recommendations within stated risk appetite.
oHold a level of credit approval authority and occasionally interact directly with applicants.
oWork independently without direct supervision.
oCommunicate efficiently and effectively with senior management to elevate credit issues.
oHelp drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvement.
Requirements:
oBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; or formal financial analysis training and credit assessment courses.
o7+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
oExperience using at least $500,000 individual credit authority.
oFoundational knowledge of commercial business credit philosophy and policies, loan documentation, bankruptcy, and regulatory environment.
oStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
oStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
oAbility to formulate and articulate objective views based upon professional analysis.
oWorks effectively in a team environment, while assuming individual responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
oExperience with Moody’s CreditLens.
oExperience in fraud detection best practices associated with on-line lending.
oExperience with international lending.
oMultiple language capabilities.
