About Tinybird

At Tinybird, we help developers and data teams take flight by unlocking the power of real-time data to build data products faster. With Tinybird, developers can easily ingest data from multiple sources, query it using the SQL they already know and love, and publish results as low-latency, high-concurrency APIs for their applications — all in minutes, not hours or days.
Our mission is to make real-time data accessible and actionable for every developer. Tinybird is loved by developers and trusted by data engineers at some of the world’s leading companies. We’re growing quickly and expanding our marketing team to amplify our reach and accelerate our demand engine.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a technically skilled, customer-oriented engineer who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and people. As a Technical Customer-Facing Engineer, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them design, build, and scale real-time data products using Tinybird.
You’ll combine your technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving skills to understand customer challenges and translate them into elegant, efficient solutions. This role is ideal for someone who loves to collaborate across teams — from Sales and Product to Engineering — and who finds energy in enabling others to succeed.
At Tinybird, we move very fast, but always as a flock. So candidates must be phenomenal team players while fully capable of completing tasks in a self-directed manner.

What will you be doing?

  • Own the solution exploration and evaluation steps (e.g. lead Demos, POCs, BVAs, etc.) of the customer’s buying process.
  • Partner with your Account Executive to provide support and technical expertise in evaluating opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Tinybird team members across technical and commercial functions to ensure we achieve our revenue growth goals and appropriately prioritize customer feedback in our product roadmap.
  • Understand our client’s business goals and technical requirements, and turn complex problems into understandable, achievable solutions using Tinybird.
  • You will help and teach our customers to work in real-time at scale.
  • You will work on complex optimization problems to reduce latencies and to increase overall solution performance.
  • Develop quick prototypes to illustrate how certain things work or what is the best way to go about something. Writing efficient SQL is important here, our platform is heavily based on SQL.
  • Take an active role in helping the sales department sustain a work culture of continuous learning and customer enablement.
  • In this company, everyone is part of the product team. While your focus might be on helping customers succeed, if the things you learn while helping customers don’t end up driving our roadmap, then we are doing something wrong.

What do you bring to the team?

  • Demonstrated expertise in the real-time data, data infrastructure and / or analytics space.
  • Technical aptitude to build custom, end-to-end product demos for customers and lead POCs.
  • Ability, enthusiasm, and creativity to develop quick prototypes that illustrate how things work and the best way to address customer needs. An important related skill is the ability to write efficient SQL. Basic front-end or dashboard experience is also valuable.
  • Experience helping address customer needs by building technical guides and blog posts that are targeted at data engineers and developers.
  • Excitement about the role and about joining a deeply technical team that is driven to change the way Big Data Products are built and to help build out the Sales function.
  • Eagerness to wear different hats and provide value across functions.
  • Driven to excel and to meet and exceed targets, often autonomously, in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; especially the ability to sell to data engineers and developers and translate between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with ClickHouse, or other real-time data technologies.

Why You’ll Love Working at Tinybird

  • You’ll join a fast-growing, transparent, and collaborative company where your work has real impact.
  • We’re remote-first, but you’ll have opportunities to connect with your teammates at company offsites and events.
  • Learning and growth are part of our DNA — we encourage curiosity and initiative.
  • Diversity and inclusion are central to our values. We welcome all applicants, even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications.

How We Work

  • Work remotely. This time we are focusing on people based in the US.
  • As we’re in the early stages, your contributions will have a significant impact on everything we do.
  • We believe in transparency, so you’ll always be in the loop about what’s happening.
  • Check out our blog or follow us on LinkedIn to find out more about what’s important to us.

A bit more about the hiring process

We value your time so we try to simplify the process as much as possible. Every candidate will get an answer and we get in touch to let you know where you are in the process.
First contact meeting to introduce ourselves and get to know you. You will meet two other Tinybird data engineers.
You will have to solve a simple async test. There is no time limit (although we encourage you to not spend more than 2 hours). The aim is not to solve the problem but to see how you approach a problem and how you think about it - the reasoning is more important than the solution. The review of this is structured as a role-play where we are the customers and you the Tinybird data engineer.
If you succeed on the previous test you will have a second meeting with other members of the team.
And finally, we make you an offer.

At Tinybird, we are at the forefront of the real-time data revolution, empowering developers and data teams to build the next generation of analytical applications with unprecedented speed and efficiency. Through our groundbreaking platform, we are fundamentally changing how businesses interact with their data, transforming it from a static resource into a dynamic, actionable asset. Our core innovation lies in providing a serverless, real-time data platform that allows for the ingestion of millions of data points per second from a multitude of sources, including streaming services like Apache Kafka and data warehouses such as Google BigQuery and Snowflake. This seamless integration eliminates the cumbersome and slow ETL/ELT processes that have long been a bottleneck for data-driven innovation.

Our technology is built upon the formidable power of ClickHouse, an open-source columnar database renowned for its incredible speed in processing SQL queries. We have optimized and wrapped this powerful engine in a developer-centric workflow that abstracts away the complexities of infrastructure management. This allows developers to use the familiar and ubiquitous language of SQL to build, test, and deploy highly concurrent, low-latency analytical APIs in minutes, not months. This focus on developer experience is paramount; we provide tools like our command-line interface (CLI) and a local-first development workflow that integrates smoothly into existing CI/CD pipelines. By enabling teams to treat their data products as code, we are fostering a new paradigm of data development that is agile, scalable, and collaborative. Tinybird is not just a tool; it is a catalyst for innovation, enabling use cases from user-facing analytics and real-time personalization to fraud detection and inventory management, ultimately allowing our customers to gain a significant competitive advantage in an increasingly fast-paced world.
