The Luminos Fund

The Luminos Fund is an international education nonprofit providing transformative learning opportunities to the world's most vulnerable children. Since launching as a standalone organization in 2016, Luminos has delivered accelerated education programs to thousands of out-of-school children across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, helping them catch up to grade level and reintegrate into government schools. The Luminos Method - an evidence-based approach - has demonstrably changed lives: independent evaluations show Luminos students make extraordinary learning gains, with graduates maintaining substantial reading advantages even after transitioning to mainstream schools.

Supported by prestigious partners including the Gates Foundation, UBS Optimus Foundation, and UNICEF, Luminos has earned global recognition for its impact-driven model. The organization received the 2022 Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize, the Library of Congress International Literacy Award, the Lipman Family Prize, the WISE Award, and the HundrED Global Innovation Award. By combining joyful, activity-based learning with rigorous pedagogy, Luminos proves that even the most marginalized children can rapidly achieve foundational literacy and numeracy skills when given the right support and second chance at education.
