The Role: AI Engineer

This role centres on designing and deploying intelligent systems with a strong emphasis on MCP server development, AI integrations, and extensible agent-based architectures. You'll play a key role in building scalable, production-grade AI infrastructure while contributing to open research and new AI use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, AI, or related fields
• Design and build MCP servers and secure context management systems
• Create custom MCP integrations for databases, APIs, and tools
• Train, optimise, and deploy machine learning and LLM-based models
• Develop robust ML pipelines and conduct performance tuning
• Build and integrate AI features, agents, and RAG-based systems
• Develop APIs and services for model inference and tool use
• Stay current with MCP specifications, AI/ML trends, and tools
• Participate in architecture decisions, technical discussions, and documentation

About You

• BSc, BSc Honours, or MSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Python and TypeScript/JavaScript programming skills
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• Familiarity with Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and similar tools
• Solid knowledge of ML fundamentals and model evaluation techniques
• Experience building APIs and working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong understanding of client-server architectures and CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• PhD or published AI research
• Experience with MCP server development and open-source contributions
• Familiarity with LLMs, transformer architectures, RLHF, and vector databases
• Experience with agent frameworks (AutoGPT, LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.)
• Background in AI safety, ethical AI, NLP, computer vision, or edge deployment
