Job Description

About the role:

The Manager, PDT R&D BU Operations will support the business unit to manage and report on strategic initiatives and activities critical to the efficient operations of the BU.

How you will contribute:

Contracting activities:

  • Manages the contracts process for PDT R&D. Processes, tracks and archives contracts according to local procedures and policies.

  • Serves as primary contractual liaison between BU, Legal, Procurement, Ethics and Compliance, Finance and other functions as required.

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all relevant contracting systems such as those used for purchasing, legal review, E&C review, due diligence review, and supplier set-up and management.

  • Independently resolves complex contractual issues and follows-up with stakeholders to ensure timely processing of contracts and meeting of deadlines.

KOL engagements:

  • Provides operational support for Consulting Agreements, Scientific Meetings, Advisory Boards and Trial Committees.

  • Processes requests in transparency reporting system and works directly with Ethics and Compliance, Medical Leads, COMs, and CRO to gather necessary documents for processing requests.

  • Follows global SOPs and guidance documents to ensure all compliance requirements are met prior to contracting.

  • Works with Legal to draft and execute agreements. May work with third-party vendors or meeting planners to assist with certain requests.

  • Manages transparency reconciliation activities in accordance with government requirements to ensure compliance.

Budget Management/Financial Support:

  • Supports integrated BU planning activities (MRP, MYC, etc.) by monitoring program-specific purchase orders and collaborating with Project Managers to align expenditures with their designated budgets.

  • Conducts monthly reviews of accruals with Business Owners to verify data precision. Collaborates with Finance and Business Owners to make updates as needed.

  • Acts as the subject matter expert for PDT R&D on diverse Procurement systems. Aids stakeholders and suppliers in resolving invoice inquiries and managing purchase orders.

  • Works closely with the PDT Finance team to create financial reports and provides support for general budget and purchase order maintenance tasks.

Donations/Sponsorships/Grants

  • Processes requests in transparency reporting system and works with BU, Finance, and Ethics and Compliance to obtain approvals via required systems.

  • Coordinates with Legal and Business Owners to draft, negotiate & execute agreements.

  • Follows global SOPs and guidance documents to ensure all compliance requirements are met prior to contracting and ensures transparency reconciliation activities completed in required systems.

Communications

  • Manages the PDT R&D SharePoint site, ensuring it is current and collaborating with functional heads to enhance their dedicated pages.

  • Oversees site permissions and structure, while generating content to guarantee its relevance and accuracy.

Administration and Infrastructure:

  • Responsible for providing meeting support to various governance committees, including scheduling, monitoring attendance, creating agendas, and accurately recording meeting minutes.

  • Monitors PDT R&D teams’ training compliance and prepares monthly reports for presentation to the executive leadership team.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Experience in R&D, commercial, business and/or corporate development / consulting

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with a focus on external innovation

  • Understanding of drug development and/or medical devices.

  • Familiarity with pipeline assets of Takeda and another relevant pharma or biotech

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Legal related field

  • 5-8 years experience in an business operations leading role within a complex pharmaceutical projects in a multi-disciplinary, global environment.

  • Willingness to travel to various meetings including international travel is required.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$111,800.00 - $175,670.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
