Staff Software Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud Hosted

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.
  
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (GCP).
  
• Experience contributing to open source projects or working with an open source community.
  
• Knowledge of building large systems.
  
• Ability to navigate open-ended technical challenges, and make proper trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build a scalable and robust platform that supports key business deliverables for Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH). Work closely with a variety of GDCH teams, Google Cloud Platforms (GCP) teams, and external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of GDCH software stack.
• Design and implement key components to meet product requirements. Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Evaluate various internal and external solutions, make recommendations on building custom solutions versus integration, and execute efficiently according to Product schedules. Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
