Specialist I, Billing & Accounts Receivable

General Description of the position

This position will be responsible for producing accurate and timely invoices for the billing of software and maintenance to assigned multifaceted global customers, and the subsequent collection of those invoices. Comfort with foreign currency, exchange rates, and international business practices are required. This individual will be required to maintain and update departmental reports as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review contractual documents related to assigned customers and interpret accordingly. Create and distribute accurate and complete invoices within established department and customer deadlines;
• Liaison to account leads and key internal departments within the company, on all matters related to the billing and collection of software/maintenance;
• Continuously monitor/update the accounts receivable aging report to support the objective of sustaining the majority of receivables collected in a timely manner. Troubleshoot AR and collection issues, escalating appropriately when issues need additional support.
• This role is expected to assist the Billing/AR Manager with cash application question and inquiries as they arise;
• Additional responsibilities include ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested by the Billing/AR Manager;
• Assist with the processing of global software/maintenance as necessary;
• This individual will be required to provide coverage for other co-workers within the department during PTO absences.
• Be comfortable with using multiple systems and with “Customer Service;” this position requires communicating with the customer regularly.

Qualifications

This role requires the ability to work independently. Individual must possess strong PC, organization, analysis, problem solving, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Proven audit skills are mandatory. Time management skills and the capacity to work with and meet departmental deadlines are essential. Comfort with foreign currency, exchange rates, and international business practices are required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 1+ years of Billing/AR experience. Familiarity with software/maintenance billing preferred.
