Senior Underwriter

What will you do?

• Underwrite new and renewal homeowners line of business in the US.
• Analyze risk information and make specific recommendations for additional actions such as inspections, loss prevention, etc.
• Address queries from other departments, such as claims, billing, and customer support. Act within your underwriting authority and escalate issues if necessary.
• Communicate effectively with various distribution partners and leadership to resolve underwriting matters.
• Recommend improvements to the underwriting process to underwrting managers and the technology counterparts.
• Decides on the most challenging referrals that aren’t clearly defined by the existing guidelines where critical underwriting judgement and knowledge is key.
• Observes and communicates underwriting trends and recommendations to the leadership team.

We might be a match if you…

• Have at least 4 years of industry experience, ideally in property underwriting.
• Have strong technical underwriting, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including attention to detail and accuracy.
• Feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Are willing to gain state-specific/geographic knowledge to resolve unique underwriting exposures or challenges.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Have a good command of English (both written & spoken) – at B2+ level.
• Are available in the afternoons – we prioritize everyone’s personal time and work-life fit, but since we work in multinational teams, evening meetings may be necessary to ensure smooth communication across time zones. Also, this role involves delegations to the US.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is nice to have.
