About Success Education Colleges
The story of Success Education Colleges (SEC) is a journey that began not in a grand hall of academia, but from the humble confines of a construction trailer in 1966. It was here that the visionary founder, Marsha Fuerst, laid the groundwork for what was then known as North-West College (NWC). With a pioneering spirit, she enrolled the very first students before the physical college was even built, driven by a singular, powerful mission: to provide students with focused, short-term professional programs that would lead directly to gainful employment and opportunities for career advancement. This foundational purpose has been the guiding star for the organization for more than half a century, shaping its growth and defining its character.
From that single trailer, the institution embarked on a path of steady expansion and evolution. Under the continuing leadership of the Fuerst family, with Marsha's son Mitchell Fuerst now at the helm as President and CEO, the organization has flourished. In 2010, the umbrella organization of Success Education Colleges was formed to unify a growing family of specialized institutions, including North-West College, Glendale Career College, Nevada Career Institute, and the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing. Today, SEC stands as a prominent leader in allied health education, operating a network of thirteen campuses across California and Nevada. It has transformed from its modest beginnings into a multi-generational institution, now educating the children and grandchildren of its earliest graduates and continuing its legacy of turning students' aspirations for a better future into tangible, rewarding careers in the vital healthcare sector.
