Stirling Council Libraries seek an experienced and enthusiastic library manager to lead on technology and systems for the service.

Responsibilities include development support for the Library Management System (LMS), RFID self-service kiosks, and public PC network. You will liaise with service providers and our Corporate ICT team, offer information and technical training to staff, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and support the procurement of new digital resources. You will monitor the website and library catalogue interface. In all of these areas, the continuous development improvement of e-service delivery, adapting to changing market requirements and technologies available, will be a priority. You will coordinate the timely accurate collation of performance data, manage a central performance database and ensure that corporate performance systems are updated accordingly.

As a member of the Libraries and Archives Management Team, you will be responsible for managing staff in our Library Headquarters including the mobiles service. Stirling Council Libraries have a new Libraries Strategy and are committed to working closely with our staff and communities to provide the best possible service. Person specification

Candidates must have a degree or post-graduate qualification in library/information sciences or related field, and have experience of managing Library Management Systems, PC booking systems and other technologies including wifi and RFID self-service facilities. Knowledge of performance management and public library statistics; experience of collating performance data and ensuring accuracy is essential. Excellent demonstrable ICT knowledge, including how technology can support library services, and which emerging technologies will affect the sector in future is required. Experience of managing libraries, teams and budgets is desirable. A flexible approach to the working week, which may include evening and weekend working, is essential. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.
