Job Description:
Senior reporting consultantwith deep RM (Revenue Manager) reporting expertise and strong Cognos and/or Power BI background to lead the business-driven reporting assessment for the Business Objects (BO) decommissioning programme.
The consultant will drive senior RM business discussions, define future-state reporting requirements and operating model changes, and ensure outputs directly inform the target reporting technology strategy and implementation approach (Cognos / Power BI–led).
Core Responsibilities
1. Business-Led Reporting Discovery (Primary Accountability)
- Lead and facilitate senior RM stakeholder workshops to:
- Elicit, challenge, and prioritise current and future reporting requirements
- Decouple genuine business needs from BO-specific legacy design
2. RM Reporting Subject-Matter Expertise (Critical)
- Demonstrate deep experience across RM reporting, including:
- Regulatory, management, and operational risk reporting
- Risk metrics, hierarchies, aggregation, controls, and auditability
- Data lineage and governance expectations in regulated environments
- MRB knowledge is advantageous but limited in scope:
- Required for ~10 reports only
- Ability to engage confidently without detracting from RM focus
3. Cognos / Power BI-Informed Reporting Design
- Apply practical experience of Cognos and/or Power BI to:
- Shape reporting requirements that are fit for modern BI platforms
- Identify where BO reporting patterns should be:
- Redesigned (not re-built)
- Rationalised or retired
- Ensure requirements are tool-aware but not tool-constrained
