About Spokeo:

Spokeo is a people intelligence platform that helps over 18 million monthly visitors reconnect with friends, reunite with families, and build trust in new relationships. Thousands of companies also trust Spokeo’s 60 billion public records to improve customer research, help verify information, and prevent fraud.

Founded in 2006, Spokeo has built a dedicated, remote-first team with an average tenure of 6.9 years. It has earned recognition from Comparably as a Best Company for Compensation, Employee Happiness, Perks and Benefits, Support for Women, Work-Life Balance, and CEO Leadership.

About This Opportunity:

As a Principal Product Manager, Data Products, you will be responsible for ingesting and aggregating data sources into the vast data repository that powers all of the core product features used by our customers. This position reports to our SVP of Product Management and will work directly with our data scientists, analysts, and developers as a Scrum Product Owner (PO) in an agile Scrum team. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of data quality, entity resolution, and B2B data products, and requires a leader who thrives in ambiguous, technical environments and can translate complex data challenges into clear product strategies.

What You'll Do:

The following reflects an estimated breakdown of how time is spent in an average week. This is subject to change.

  • 20% — Own and prioritize a data development backlog and project delivery schedule to execute customer-focused roadmap deliverables, serving as Product Owner for an Agile Scrum team responsible for regular data builds that generate high-quality people profiles at scale.

  • 20% — Work closely with developers, analysts, and architects to fully understand available data and define business logic, including cleaning and standardization requirements; lead efforts to evaluate and onboard new external data vendors providing people data and PII.

  • 20% — Conduct and review data analysis, profiling, and mining using traditional statistical techniques to understand and strengthen data capabilities; define what data accuracy means for the company's data products and translate those standards into actionable engineering project plans.

  • 20% — Document requirements by writing user stories that align with product needs; lead the product roadmap for entity resolution improvements using weakly supervised machine learning techniques in collaboration with data science and ML engineering teams.

  • 10% — Collaborate with product and data stakeholders to gather requirements needed to develop aggregated data to support the product suite; lead strategic development and improvement of the batch append product offering.

  • 10% — Define acceptance and data quality criteria and guide the agile Scrum team to meet them; curate data labels and drive their integration into the data build process to systematically improve data product quality.

Who You Are:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related engineering field.

  • 7+ years of experience with product management, product development, and product ownership in data-focused organizations, with proven experience serving as a Scrum Product Owner.

  • Deep experience with people data, public records, or identity data ecosystems — including PII handling, data vendor evaluation, and familiarity with batch append or data-as-a-service (DaaS) product models.

  • Demonstrated experience with entity resolution, record linkage, or identity graph products, with working knowledge of person-level matching challenges and familiarity with weakly supervised machine learning approaches to data quality improvement.

  • Experience with SQL for profiling and analyzing data sets; familiarity with open-source big-data tools such as AWS, Spark, Hadoop, or Airflow preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with a track record of influencing without authority across technical and business stakeholders.

Working at Spokeo:

Our mission is to advance transparency, and to achieve that goal, we rally around six core values: listening with empathy, understanding the why, clarifying with data, innovating to learn, collaborating to achieve, and insisting on quality.

As a remote-first company, we are able to hire team members residing in the following US states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, KY, MD, MI, MO, NJ, NV, NC, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, WA, or WY.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, our generous benefits include:

  • annual bonus program

  • 401K with matching

  • 100% medical/dental/vision coverage

  • unlimited PTO
