Senior Software Engineer (Angular Experience Required)

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for formulating and defining specifications for complex operating software programming applications, or modifying and maintaining existing applications using engineering releases and utilities. This role involves designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs. The Senior Software Engineer assists in all phases of software systems programming applications and evaluates new and existing software products.

SFI is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a focus on results-driven front-end development, specializing in building dynamic, responsive, and scalable web applications using Angular. Skilled in developing and maintaining user-friendly interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and translating UI/UX designs into high-quality, performant code. Proficient in Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful API integration, with a strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and testable code. Adept at working in Agile development environments, participating in code reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver solutions that enhance user experience and application functionality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Software Design & Architecture: Lead teams of developers in the design and architecture of software applications.
• Front-End Development:
• Develop and maintain responsive, scalable, and high-performance web applications using Angular (v8+ or latest versions).
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality front-end code.
• Implement reusable, modular components and maintain state management.
• Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 code following best practices.
• API Integration: Integrate RESTful APIs and external data sources to enable dynamic data-driven functionality.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing and end-to-end testing using tools like Jasmine, Karma, and Protractor.
• Code Review & Standards: Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and continuous improvement.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with back-end developers, UI/UX designers, and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Customer Interface: Interface directly with senior-level customer management and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Debugging & Resolution: Debug and resolve technical issues, providing timely fixes and improvements.
• Compatibility & Accessibility: Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Documentation: Contribute to the documentation of technical processes, code, and user interfaces.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Support the development and deployment pipelines through CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field), or six (6) years of equivalent work experience.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• API Development: Experience in developing RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Containerization: Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Front-End Security: Understanding of security best practices for front-end applications, including authentication and authorization (OAuth, JWT).
• Web Technologies: Experience with server-side rendering (Angular Universal) and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs).
• DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with GitHub, PostgreSQL, and Java.

Project Experience:

• Must have experience working on a database migration project.
• Must have experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Must have experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps environments.

Soft Skills:

• Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other Information

• The salary for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 annually
• This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs
