The Position:
The Director of Licensure is responsible for overseeing the licensure and credentialing process, ensuring that all organizational and regulatory requirements are met for obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and registrations across multiple jurisdictions. This role oversees payor credentialing application and renewal process to ensure the organization meets criteria to fulfill contract specification. This role will manage compliance initiatives to ensure timely renew and a, streamlined efficient licensure processes. This role works closely with various stakeholders to collect, and communication information ensure adherence to local, state, federal regulations, and accreditation standards relating to licensing and credentialing.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end licensure process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and timely submission of applications and renewals.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve licensure processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Oversee the end-to-end payor credentialing process, ensuring compliance with team requests, timely submission of applications, and renewals.
- Monitor changes in state, federal, and local regulations that impact licensure requirements and adapt policies accordingly.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, clinical, and operational teams to ensure that all licensing needs are addressed proactively and accurately.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and licensing authorities, managing relationships, and handling any escalations or issues. Research and monitor regulations as needed related to licensure and credentialing, requests from stakeholders.
- Manage creation and updating policies related to department process ensuring the organization remains compliant with all licensure and credentialing requirements.
- Ensure the timely renewal of all licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications, preventing any lapses that could affect operations.
- Manages system and process for verification of licensure status of organization credentialed staff along with notification process of finding of adverse findings to appropriate departments.
- Maintain process/system for detailed records of all licensure documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date tracking and reporting.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on licensure trends, regulatory changes, organization risk related to licensing and credentialing that may impact the organization.
- Train and mentor internal teams on licensure requirements, processes, systems/tools, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all continuing education requirements, if applicable, to maintain licensure.
- Completes all necessary managerial tasks for direct reports including hiring, training, addressing performance issues, developing team goals and objectives, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, later as needed
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, Compliance, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in licensure, credentialing, regulatory compliance, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong understanding of state and federal licensure regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple licensure processes simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies and internal teams.
- Proficiency in managing digital licensure systems and maintaining accurate records.
