About Sokin

View company profile

At the heart of Sokin is a culture defined by a relentless drive to remove the borders, barriers, and burdens that have long complicated global financial transactions. Founded in 2019 by Vroon Modgill, the company was born from a personal mission to democratize the remittance landscape, inspired by the struggles of first-generation immigrants in sending money home. This foundational empathy permeates the company's ethos, fostering a workplace that values transparency, inclusivity, and the empowerment of both its customers and its employees. Sokin operates as a remote-first organization, a testament to its belief that talent knows no geographical boundaries. This structure not only supports a diverse, global team but also mirrors the very service they provide—seamless, borderless connection.

The Sokin team is united by a shared vision to disrupt the status quo of the payments industry through innovation and simplicity. By pioneering a subscription-based model similar to Spotify, they have challenged legacy banking systems, prioritizing fairness and clarity over hidden fees. This spirit of disruption is matched by a supportive and collaborative internal culture, where autonomy and accountability are highly prized. Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their work, driving the company's rapid growth from a London-based startup to a global fintech player. Whether it's through their 'work from anywhere' policy or their commitment to financial inclusion, Sokin demonstrates a profound dedication to creating a world where movement—of money, people, and ideas—is effortless and accessible to all.
