A hands-on R&D manager of products for characterization of standard cell libraries, memories and I/O designs. Responsible for leading the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of software solutions and products within the standard cell and memory characterization product line. Manages and coordinates pre- and post-sales activities, second-level support, and the qualification of opportunities. Identifies, develops, and implements software according to organizational needs and priorities. Leads projects, programs and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity. Carries out performance assessments, and salary adjustments of direct and indirect reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to:

  • Manage and mentor a team of four engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Performs coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
  • Exercises judgement with specialized skills to solve complex technical and business matters.
  • Develops, researches, designs, implements, tests, and evaluates software and systems, in conjunction with hardware product development engineering needs.
  • Applies principles and techniques of computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis to improve the function of Silvaco characterization tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Master or PhD degree in a relevant engineering and/or science discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering work experience in the semiconductor industry with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring a team in a technical environment.
  • Experience in library characterization for the generation of timing, power, and process variation models in Liberty library formats.
  • Experience using design synthesis, static timing and power analysis tools.
  • Experience with SPICE simulation of transistor level combinational and sequential gates.
  • Experience with SPICE simulation of large macro cells and memories.
  • Strong track record and experience in leading standard cell library development projects.
  • Excellent coding skills, and knowledge of agile methodologies and software development tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing the complete software development lifecycle.
  • The ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time.
  • A comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.

All Silvaco salary ranges are determined by role, level and geographic location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training and additional role-related considerations.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of total compensation package, in addition to full range of medical, financial and other benefits.
