Construction & Specification Sales Rep

About the role:

An opportunity has arisen to join the company as a Construction and Specification Sales Representative. In this role you will promote Sika’s technologies and capabilities to engineers, architects, construction companies and specialist applicators.

You will be ideally based in the Hamilton or Tauranga region and working from a home-based office, there will be one week a month spent travelling around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.

On a daily basis you will be:

• Hunting new business and developing opportunities in line with our company strategies
• Managing new and existing accounts
• Working with architects and designers to create system specifications
• Negotiating sales and developing strong relationships in related industries
• Responding to customer enquiries leading to providing quotations and specifications
• Attending trade events and seminars where appropriate

What you will bring:

As the successful candidate you will:

• Be a strong hunter with a proven record in sales development
• Be familiar with the specification processes of the construction industry
• Have sales experience in a construction related industry
• Have sales experience in the waterproofing and/or roofing industry would be advantageous
• Have excellent relationship building skills
• Have strong negotiation skills with the ability to compete on areas other than price
• Be able to work autonomously where required
• Have strong written and oral communication skills
• Be computer literate with the ability to use email, word and basic excel
