We are seeking an experienced Director of DevOps to lead our DevOps initiatives and database management efforts. With a focus on scalability, performance, and security, you will drive operational excellence and lead a talented team to deliver robust infrastructure solutions. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to optimize our systems and align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a DevOps team and Agency, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute DevOps strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Administer, optimize, and secure SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on AWS.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance database and system performance.
- Implement and enforce database backup, recovery, rollback, and indexing strategies.
- Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors using scripts and tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to manage database and infrastructure changes.
- Oversee smooth deployment and release processes for databases and applications.
- Establish and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for DevOps and database management.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement long-term solutions.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure management, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles, demonstrating strong people management and team development capabilities.
- Experience managing outsourcing agencies and services.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams to successfully deliver cloud-based infrastructure solutions and implement best practices.
- Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong understanding of cloud architecture, deployment, and optimization.
- Solid experience with VMC (VMware Cloud), ideally having led migration projects or cloud infrastructure initiatives on VMware-based platforms.
- Expertise in SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on AWS, with a focus on performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
- Strong leadership in guiding teams through CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD, and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and process improvement.
- Experience in developing and executing strategies for cloud migration, scaling, and infrastructure optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and inspire teams, while managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or related DevOps tools are preferred.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or insurance is a plus.
