Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a PACS Regional Lead reporting into our Corporate Headquarters location.
Under the direction of the Headquarters PACS Manager, this position ensures the successful operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with minimal oversight. The successful candidate shall possess and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the PACS system, Radiology Departments, Information Systems, Nuance Powerscribe 360 and networking. Some minimal travel may be required for this position based on business need.
Responsibilities
- Perform system maintenance on the PACS system, images, interfaces and databases
- Perform system failure and recovery and resolution/work-around methods
- Perform system troubleshooting of anomalies, notifying technical support during system anomalies
- Manage, monitor and maintain PACS system to ensure the maximum uptime and availability
- Serve as the primary Vendor point of contact for service and support, managing the PACS Vendor relationship and performance
- Manage the PACS Vendor relationship and performance
- Develop and maintain PACS system security policies [particularly as they relate to HIPAA], maintaining data integrity, consistency and patient privacy
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- 5 yrs of PACS, Carestream CD/DR, RIS, Cerner PowerChart / RadNet required
- 3 yrs of clinical knowledge or working experience in radiology department workflow required
Experience Preferred:
- 5 yrs of Cerner or Epic experience preferred
Education Required:
- High School Diploma/GED required
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science preferred
- Radiologic Technology Certificate preferred
- Radiology Technologist license in State of residence preferred
