We are currently searching for a GE Proficy Engineer/Sr Python Developer:
Responsibilities:
- Configure and support GE Proficy Historian within AWS cloud environments.
- Set up and manage collectors, including Sparkplug B and calculation collectors, for efficient data gathering.
- Create and maintain historian tags, specifically handling raw, calculated, and writeback tags.
- Develop Python scripts and services to perform complex calculations on raw data and normalize units/formats.
- Integrate downstream applications by enabling data consumption via Proficy REST APIs, SDKs, and OPC interfaces.
- Provide technical support and utilities to application teams for tag discovery, mapping, and query optimization.
- Monitor system health and pipelines, troubleshooting data latency, calculation errors, and API connectivity issues.
- Document calculation logic and tag conversion specifications to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with GE Proficy Historian configuration and implementation.
- Senior-level Python development skills, specifically for data processing and automated calculations.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure as it relates to industrial data systems.
- Expertise in industrial protocols and interfaces like Sparkplug B, OPC, and REST APIs.
- Experience with Tag Management, including the conversion of raw data into actionable engineering logic.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex data pipelines and performing root cause analysis via logs and metrics.
Desired:
- Experience with unit normalization and naming convention standardization in large-scale industrial environments.
- Ability to build reusable Python utilities or templates for data consumption teams.
- Familiarity with Engineering logic validation against source systems.
