We are currently searching for a Mainframe Application Support Engineer (z/OS / COBOL):
Responsibilities
- Provide application support for mainframe-based systems running on IBM z/OS.
- Support and maintain COBOL applications, ensuring stability and performance.
- Manage and troubleshoot batch jobs using JCL, including scheduling and execution issues.
- Work with mainframe subsystems such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ to resolve application incidents.
- Analyze and resolve database-related issues in IBM DB2 environments.
- Use REXX scripts for automation and operational support when required.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of IBM z/OS operating system and architecture.
- Proficiency in COBOL for application support.
- Hands-on experience with JCL for batch processing and job scheduling.
- Knowledge of mainframe subsystems: CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
- Experience working with IBM DB2 databases, including SQL queries and basic performance tuning.
- Familiarity with REXX scripting for automation and support tasks.
Languages
- Advanced Oral English.
- Native Spanish.
