About SEi
The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is an international non-profit research institute established in 1989 by the Swedish Parliament. With headquarters in Stockholm and seven centres around the world, SEI tackles climate, environment and sustainable development challenges through cutting-edge research, knowledge, tools and capacity building.
SEI empowers partners to meet environmental challenges by connecting science to policy and practice. The institute's work spans climate change, natural resources, water, air, and health, addressing questions of governance, innovation, finance, poverty, gender equality and social equity. Scientific quality and integrity are foundations of the organization's work, with partnership at the heart of their approach leading to lasting change. The Government of Sweden is SEI's largest funder, supplemented by support from public research funders, philanthropic foundations, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, governments, NGOs and other partners.
