The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Consultant with strong data engineering skills to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimising modern data platforms that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and machine learning across a range of industries including government, financial services (social insurance), and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and cloud-native data platforms
  • Translate business challenges into data engineering problems and actionable solutions
  • Build robust ETL/ELT solutions using best practices in data engineering
  • Work across large datasets, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and architects
  • Contribute to client engagements through technical delivery, stakeholder engagement, and documentation
  • Support capability uplift through mentoring and knowledge-sharing

Core Experience and Skills
We understand that candidates may bring different combinations of expertise. Below is an outline of the capabilities we’re looking for, with flexibility based on depth and context of experience:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or related roles
  • Strong proficiency in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ideally AWS or Azure
  • Solid understanding of SQL, Python or PySpark, and distributed data processing
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architecture
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD and Git
  • Experience with modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory, AWS Step Functions)

You will stand out from the crowd if you also bring:

  • Experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog)
  • Prior consulting or advisory experience in a client-facing role
  • Exposure to data governance, metadata management, or data quality frameworks
  • Experience integrating structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • Knowledge of API-based data ingestion and streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs)
  • Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Power BI, Tableau or other reporting layers
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure or Databricks
  • Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance
