Are you a senior technologist with a passion for designing robust data and systems architectures that drive real business outcomes? We're currently partnering with a purpose-driven organisation to recruit an experienced Data and Systems Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping their technology strategy and infrastructure.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on architecture role, is comfortable working remotely, and is motivated by complex technical challenges across systems, data, and cloud environments.About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly capable and collaborative Data and Systems Architect to lead the design, development, and oversight of their technology landscape. This includes everything from system architecture and data governance to integration strategy and performance planning.
You’ll act as the bridge between business and technology – translating strategic goals into scalable technical solutions, while guiding and mentoring development teams and ensuring best practices are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Strategy and Design – Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical architecture across systems, data, and infrastructure.
- Data Governance and Quality – Lead the development and implementation of data strategies, policies, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance, security, and integrity.
- Systems Integration – Design and implement efficient integration solutions across platforms using APIs, ETL/ELT, and streaming technologies, with a focus on cloud and hybrid environments.
- Scalability and Resilience – Build future-proof architecture that supports system growth, high availability, performance optimisation, and disaster recovery.
- Technical Leadership – Mentor and support engineering teams, enforce technical standards, and participate in architecture reviews to maintain consistency and quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate across departments to ensure architectural decisions align with wider business goals, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software or data engineering, with proven progression into architecture
- Hands-on expertise in Salesforce, NetSuite, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong data modelling and database design experience (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least one major language: Python, Java, C#, or Go
- Solid knowledge of API management, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and integration tools (e.g. Talend, Informatica)
- Familiarity with architectural patterns: microservices, event-driven, serverless
- Strong security awareness: encryption, access control, identity management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, experience working independently and remotely, with a high level of accountability
- Salesforce or cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect) are highly regarded
- Experience working with or supporting non-profit organisations is a bonus
This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation that values strategic thinking, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll have the autonomy to shape long-term architecture while working in a mission-driven environment with a supportive, remote-first culture.
