The journey of Scaled Agile, Inc. began in 2011, born from a vision to address a growing challenge in the world of software and systems development: how to effectively apply agile principles not just within small teams, but across entire enterprises. Co-founded by Dean Leffingwell and Drew Jemilo, the company set out to create a comprehensive framework that would empower large organizations to achieve business agility. Leffingwell, already a recognized figure in software development, alongside Jemilo, identified the critical need for a structured yet flexible approach to help complex organizations deliver value faster, improve quality, and enhance employee engagement. This led to the creation of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), a knowledge base of proven, integrated principles and practices for Lean, Agile, and DevOps.

From its inception, Scaled Agile's mission was clear: to be the trusted provider of the system that enables customers to achieve and sustain business agility. What started as a foundational framework has evolved significantly over the years, with SAFe® now in its sixth iteration. The company's growth mirrors the increasing global adoption of agile methodologies at scale. Scaled Agile has cultivated a worldwide community, training over a million professionals and partnering with hundreds of transformation and platform companies. Thousands of enterprises across diverse industries, including a significant portion of Fortune 100 companies, have embraced SAFe® to navigate the complexities of the modern digital age. This widespread adoption is a testament to the framework's effectiveness in helping organizations build better systems, respond rapidly to market changes, and ultimately, improve business outcomes. Scaled Agile continues to refine SAFe® and expand its offerings, driven by the goal of making the world a better place by enabling enterprises to continually deliver innovative business solutions.
