Part-Time Technical Advisor - AI Systems & Automation

About the Role

We're hiring a part-time AI Technical Advisor to provide high-level technical guidance for our automation and AI systems. You’ll support our full-time automation engineer by solving backend/API issues, reviewing logic, and helping design scalable, intelligent workflows that incorporate GPT, automation platforms, and APIs.

This is a fractional expert role you’ll jump in only when needed to offer clear, asynchronous guidance or tackle advanced technical challenges. You are not expected to collaborate daily, attend meetings, or join execution sprints.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural direction and high-level input on GPT-based automations and AI workflows
• Assist in building or reviewing integrations using OpenAI APIs, LangChain, Pinecone, Zapier/Make, or webhooks
• Troubleshoot back-end logic, webhooks, or token/auth issues that the core team encounters
• Offer asynchronous support via Looms, written documentation, or technical notes
• Write or review scripts where needed (Python/JavaScript)
• Suggest scalable, maintainable solutions that support long-term efficiency

Requirements

You’re a Great Fit If You Have:

• 3+ years in AI systems, backend development, or workflow automation
• Hands-on experience with GPT APIs, LangChain, vector databases, and automation tools
• Strong API, webhook, and backend troubleshooting experience
• Ability to write clear, structured documentation and explain decisions
• Prefer working independently with asynchronous flexibility
• Bonus: Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers remotely
