Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Relocation to Milan)

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of digital payments. You will be responsible for the technical direction, quality, and delivery of complex systems, impacting multiple services across teams. You'll drive multi-service solutions, ensure technical quality, resolve and anticipate blockers, execute and own your work, mentor peers, and contribute to system maintenance and stability.

Requirements

• Extensive Experience: at least 5 years of related experience in back-end software engineering, with a proven track record of working with microservices, cloud environments, and Agile methodologies.
• Programming Expertise: deep experience working with Java and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus).
• Technical Leadership: proven ability to drive knowledge sharing, mentor peers, and conduct technical analysis for large-scope projects affecting multiple systems.
• Structured Communication: ability to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your style to build trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders, including coordinating implementation with other teams.
• Passion and Language Skills: passionate about FinTech or startup environments and fluent in English.
