SALT Dental Collective

Salt Dental Collective, initially founded in 2018, embarked on a mission to redefine dental partnerships. The organization began with a vision to support pediatric dentistry and orthodontics practices, offering a model where doctors could retain their clinical autonomy while benefiting from robust administrative and operational support. In its early years, from 2019 to the beginning of 2023, Salt Dental Collective experienced significant growth, expanding from its initial four locations to over 50 practices across five states, including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, and California. This period laid the groundwork for a doctor-centric culture, attracting numerous dental professionals who sought to be part of a larger, supportive network without sacrificing the individuality of their practices.

A pivotal moment in Salt Dental Collective's journey occurred in January 2023 with the appointment of Dylan Bates as CEO. Bates, who had served on the company's board since its inception in 2019, brought a wealth of experience from scaling multi-site healthcare platforms, notably ATI Physical Therapy. Under his leadership, the company intensified its growth trajectory and relocated its Home Support Office from Bend, Oregon, to Scottsdale, Arizona, establishing a new 'nerve center' for collaboration and support. The organization, now also known as Salt Dental Partners, continued its rapid expansion, aiming to reach nearly 100 practices by the end of 2023. This new phase, often referred to as 'SALT 2.0', emphasized a transformational growth surge, significantly broadening its geographic footprint and partner base, while consistently focusing on fostering a collaborative environment where dental professionals can thrive and focus on patient care, free from the burdens of day-to-day business management.
