Raytheon is seeking a Requirements and Capabilities Associate Director that will be responsible for supporting a strategic Air Defense effector campaign, and their associated business opportunities. The Associate Director will be responsible for identifying and understanding market needs for growth, working with existing customers and establishing new customers, developing strategies and deploying tactics to execute and meet the Land and Air Defense System's (LADS) Long-Range Plan.
The Associate Director reports to the Director, Requirements and Capabilities, Medium and Long-Range Air Defense Systems; and will provide direct support across several Programs and Global Capture Managers in not only the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) but also several other SBU’s across Raytheon. This Associate Director supports the development of the Family of Effectors (FOE) strategy, briefs leadership, and leads business development, opportunity shaping, proposal management and capture in support of the annual booking's plan. The Associate Director will participate in assessing customers’ wants and needs, as well as bringing broad market knowledge to assist in identification and qualification of new business opportunities. The Associate Director will lead the development of Senior Leader talking points, capability white papers, customer presentations, and develop and manage marketing materials consistent with Raytheon policy and LADS strategy and technology roadmaps.
The Associate Director will be the subject matter expert for US Requirements & Capabilities and will serve as the leader for all actions, opportunities and customers across the Department of Defense, including Battle Labs, Program Managers, and Requirements Directorates at Redstone Arsenal, AL and Ft. Sill, OK.
What You Will Do
- Formulate and lead competitive strategies to win pursuits: understand strategic environment, in particular, competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategies
- Execute competitor intelligence gathering efforts to help Raytheon Technologies' businesses better understand and counter competitor actions
- Coordinate growth strategy and customer engagements across multiple business units, US DoD services and international partners
- Support the LADS Requirements and Capabilities team to identify, and develop new business opportunities, and position new business resources to achieve LADS growth objectives
- Coordinate with functional leaders at LADS and associated programs on all activities related to meeting performance objectives and managing pursuits and supporting domestic and international effector captures, as needed
- Be the LADS customer lead for the Air Defense Family of Effectors
- Build trust and sound relationships with customers and partners and clearly articulate to LADS business leadership customer needs
- Support development and marketing strategies to achieve business goals aligned with customer plans and programs
- Focus on the customer, understand strategic environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements. Understand how the customer perceives current and future Air Defense effector capabilities and capacity gaps. Create opportunities to help develop requirements. Shape opportunities to explain and promote Raytheon solutions
- Develop and implement internal and external customer contact plans
- Lead and support internal Raytheon Gate Reviews; conduct internal and external briefings
- Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at the Federal, State/Local on Public Policy in their advocation and development of new technologies and our solutions
- Approximately 50% annual domestic and international travel for customer engagements and tradeshows
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years' experience working with Department of Defense, or an Advanced Degree and 10 years' experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in business development, program management, or government relations with Army and/or Air Force acquisition
- Former US Military Officer with experience supporting Air Defense formations
- Experience with the US Military requirements development process and/or the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
- Experience with Raytheon’s portfolio of Army Air Defense effectors
Qualifications We Prefer
- A good teammate with excellent leadership, team building, and networking skills
- Knowledge of cross site and enterprise level planning and implementation practices
- Experience with US Government Planning, Programming, Budget and/or Execution (PPBE) process
- Ability to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities and proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence
- Knowledge of Raytheon’s portfolio of Air Force, Navy, and Allied Air Defense Effectors
