The Digital Marketing Paid Media Lead provides critical thinking and oversees campaign execution to deliver an efficient return on ad spend against defined revenue, brand and/or talent marketing goals. He or she serves as the primary point of contact for assigned campaigns, working with members of the demand generation or talent marketing to understand goals, make recommendations and recommend optimizations.

The Paid Media Lead is responsible for bringing a multi-channel perspective to campaign development, with a keen understanding of paid search, display and social channels, tactics, targeting and campaign management. They will be responsible for researching and identifying extended media opportunities to align with audience research. This may include negotiating with outside vendors and agencies according to firm policy.

The paid media lead is responsible for opportunity research, goal definition and strategic direction for defined advertising campaigns either directly or in collaboration with team members across the COE and with agency and media partners as required.

This role may serve as a career advisor/team lead to one or more paid media specialists.

The Paid Media Lead must be an active learner, interested in staying in step with an ever-changing digital marketing and advertising landscape. They must be comfortable collaborating with marketers and business leaders on strategic direction, using data to drive decisions, while understanding where data has limits.

Essential Duties:

General responsibilities:

  • Understand digital marketing campaigns, marketing strategies and CMG business goals
  • Understand RSM marketing tech stack and data flows, contribute to roadmap, support effective data-driven decisions
  • Manage project requests and oversee task assignments to ensure work is delivered effectively and efficiently
  • Establish a communication cadence with internal stakeholders to stay ahead of new requests and provide 360 feedback
  • Understand the buyer journey – holistically and for assigned campaigns – and apply user-centric thinking and brand standards to promote consistent, helpful and enjoyable user experiences for prospects and clients
  • Identify internal and industry trends and policy changes that may impact campaign strategy, campaign management or internal processes

Paid media responsibilities:

  • Develop formal media plans to support campaign requests, adding to campaign briefs with additional research and expertise, including collaboration with content and creative teams
  • Communicate and gain agreement on channel and creative strategy, including reasonable quantified goal targets ahead of implementing any new campaigns
  • Actively manage multiple paid media campaigns, with deep awareness of audience and conversion goals, creative strategy, tactics and optimizations
  • Proactively manage budget for assigned campaigns, ensuring proper expense coding and pacing to agreed upon targets
  • Directly or indirectly manage the build and performance monitoring of campaigns in media accounts/platforms
  • Recommend creative, audience, budget and channel adjustments where indicated, including routine testing for optimizations
  • Seek input from peers and leaders on complex performance challenges
  • Collaborate with analytics and SMI teams to ensure effective measurement and reporting
  • Help define benchmarks and ensure conversion tracking accuracy
  • Create CRM views to support lead and opportunity tracking
  • Regularly review/validate conversations to ensure ongoing data quality
  • Make direct tactical adjustments to campaigns as needed
  • Contribute to monthly demand generation campaign performance analysis/reporting
  • Uphold RSM brand standards and marketing best practices

  • May serve as a direct career advisor to senior associate or associate team members

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing or equivalent degree/experience required
  • Google Ads Certification, preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFTSKILLS

  • Extensive knowledge of digital marketing channels, including search, social, display, programmatic and video
  • Direct experience managing campaigns in paid search and social advertising platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Advertising, etc.)
  • Ability to learn other platforms within the digital marketing ecosystem, including digital media analytics, audience research and CRM
  • Experience researching and analyzing data across a variety of toolsets (Google, Adobe, SEMrush, Sparktoro)
  • Experience with ad operations, media reporting and QA, including implementation of data collection mechanisms
  • Awareness of data privacy laws

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, sales or analytics roles, with a preference for large organization or professional services experience
  • 3+ years of practical paid media campaign management experience, in house or agency side
  • 2+ years of peer management and team leadership, preferred

Compensation Range: $92,600 - $159,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
