You will be responsible for assuring quality for Riverside Insights’ Group, Clinical, and Aperture products. You will apply your expertise in written communication and attention to detail to reviews of both print and digital materials. You will ensure that published print, digital, audio, and video materials follow industry and company styles and adhere to the current writing conventions.
In this role you will get to:
- Copyedit and proofread Tier 2 materials, crosswalk documents, and other Aperture materials as requested
- Copyedit and proofread materials for Riverside’s contract programs
- Process reprints for all print materials
- Collaborate with the Technical Production Solutions team to process needed corrigenda changes for any reprint
- Review all new print samples, and communicate the results of these reviews to the vendors the day of the review
- Provide reviews for Woodcock-Johnson materials, CogAT materials, and other product materials as requested
- Copyedit audio and video scripts and review audio and video files to match scripts and items; complete reviews by or before scheduled due dates
- Participate in online QA of completed forms in delivery platforms
- Contribute to editorial style guides as needed

Requirements
- Bachelors in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience, experience in educational publishing preferred
- Experience copyediting and applying expertise in written communication, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, usage, clarity, conciseness, and consistency to materials prior to publication
- Experience proofreading and reviewing materials for formatting, layout, page consistency, and overall visual correctness and completeness
- Familiarity and comfort with both print and digital publishing as well as reviewing audio and video media
- Experience and proficiency with the Adobe suite of tools, including Adobe Acrobat and Adobe InCopy
- Strong knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and/or the American Psychological Association Publication Manual; ability to create and follow project-specific style guides
- Ability to edit in digital environments (i.e., PDF markup, Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and content management systems)
- Resourcefulness in dealing with competing priorities; comfort with and ability to prioritize one’s own work as well as the work of contractors or vendors
- Attention to detail, ability to proofread changes, and proficiency in using PDF markup tools; ability to determine acceptable quality of printed materials
- Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with Global Supply Chain, Technical Production Solutions, print vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Capable of working within a project team; good communication, organizational, and team-building skills
Physical Requirements for this position
- Remote
- Up to 10%-15% travel for off-site team meetings and some in-office work.
- May require stationary positions (sitting or standing) for extended periods.
