We are looking for a Business Developer to join our team, focused on the Pharma Segment. As a Business Developer you’ll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Your work will involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, enhancing the operation of the business and our positioning in the market. The role, reporting to VP Business Development, will be part of a growing team

We are looking for Business Developers with a track record of consultative sales with Ophthalmology Pharma, Biotech , Real World Evidence and / or Clinical Research Organizations (CROs). You will be an independent thinker, a self starter comfortable with ambiguity and a results oriented problem solver.

This role is pivotal in scaling our business development efforts.

Responsibilities:

    • Have a good understanding of the RetinAI / Ikerain current and evolving portfolio of products and services and be able to advise others about them
    • Research and identify targets in the segments we are interested in (Pharma, Biotech and CROs focused on eye care)
    • Identify and seek out appropriate contacts in target organizations, leveraging publicly available sources and personal networks
    • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
    • Meet with prospects and customers face to face or over the phone
    • Develop compelling pitches based on analysis of the organization and potential customer needs
    • Foster and develop relationships with prospects and customers
    • Understand the needs of your potential customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
    • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business, and identify new opportunities in target markets and adjacent segments
    • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement changes, for example working closely with Customer Success, Research, Marketing,Product and Operational colleagues
    • Draw up client contracts working with relevant internal teams (operations and legal)
    • Support the onboarding of new customers, working closely with Customer Success and members of the broader team to ensure the successful start to the project and transition of the relationship to account management
    • Manage and grow accounts from project to project

Requirements

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in life sciences, computer science or related field, PhD/ MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in business development management consulting or other customer-facing role, experience of scale - up environments a plus
  • Proven track record of consultative sales with Ophthalmology Pharma, Biotech, MedTech and / or Clinical Research Organizations (CROs)
  • Tech savvy ideally with experience in digital health or health IT
  • Experience working with cross functional teams (sales, marketing, development)
  • Experience working with complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical customers; experience in healthcare environments (i.e. clinics and hospitals) a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with impressive executive presence and communication abilities
  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations to design and implement effective processes
  • A strong drive for action and a passion for technology and customer success
