Managing Director of New Ventures

As our Managing Director of New Ventures, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and launching innovative healthcare companies. This is a rare opportunity at the intersection of venture capital and operations, where you'll tackle complex challenges and drive meaningful impact.

In this role, you will lead research into high-potential healthcare themes and verticals, identify and prioritize compelling business opportunities, and guide selected concepts through rigorous diligence and launch—with the full support of the New Ventures team and Redesign Health’s broader ecosystem.

This position is based in Los Angeles, and we ask that you be onsite 3–4 days per week in our LA office.

What you'll do:

• Co-Ideation:

  • Work alongside our external partners, and leverage Redesign’s research database, network of industry advisors, and strategic relationships to identify business opportunities that Redesign is uniquely positioned to launch.

  • Explore and analyze markets and trends in the healthcare industry.

  • Perform competitive analyses and identify current best practices and market leaders.

  • Size existing and latent markets and identify trends and relative positioning.

• Concept Development & Project Evaluation:

  • Establish a comprehensive business plan for new ventures.

  • Develop the economic model and key performance indicators to support your thesis.

  • Test and validate assumptions while creating a sensitivity analysis for key drivers.

  • Identify and begin to explore any key partnerships that would be required to launch the business.

  • Define and develop a clear vision, mission, and go-to-market strategy for this new venture.

• Launch:

  • Oversee foundational operational efforts, including but not limited to the management of internal and external resources, identification and negotiation of critical external partnerships (vendors, suppliers, etc.), and facilitation of financial, accounting, legal, and real estate decisions.

What you'll need:

• Background

  • 8-10 total years of experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in banking, investing, consulting, strategy, or product.

  • 3+ years of consulting experience.

  • 1+ years of management experience.

  • Experience working on business diligence & in-depth industry research.

  • Experience working in healthcare.

  • Deep expertise in financial modeling.

  • Breaks down ambiguous problems, identifies key questions, and creates structured solutions.
