The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Business Partner is a key strategic partner to the Vice President, Real Estate and Environmental, Health, Safety & Security. In this role, you will drive RB Global’s commitment to an unyielding culture of safety, ensuring that safety and environmental performance are embedded across all operations and field-based teams.

To succeed in this role

As the EHS Business Partner, you provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to elevate safety and environmental standards across the organization. You design, implement, and execute comprehensive EHS strategies, translate regulatory requirements into practical operational solutions, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and field teams.

You play a critical role in shaping safety culture, leading audits and investigations, monitoring performance through KPIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In close partnership with HR, you also support employee-related compensation claims and ensure consistent, fair handling of safety-related matters.

What you will be accountable for

  • Designing and executing global EHS initiatives, establishing long-term safety and environmental goals aligned with RB Global’s business objectives
  • Leading comprehensive safety audits, risk assessments, and site inspections across field operations, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Analyzing safety and environmental performance using KPIs and leading indicators, identifying trends, and supporting field teams in achieving monthly performance targets
  • Fostering a culture where safety is a shared responsibility, promoting accountability, openness, and collaboration at all levels of the organization
  • Recording, investigating, and reviewing incidents, conducting root-cause analyses, defining corrective actions, and reporting insights and progress to senior leadership
  • Researching, developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring they meet regulatory, operational, and business requirements
  • Making authoritative decisions on the interpretation and enforcement of EHS regulations across diverse sites to ensure consistent compliance and risk mitigation
  • Governing regional EHS policies, performance metrics, and operational requirements, using data to drive continuous improvement, sustainability, and risk reduction
  • Overseeing compliance with safety training requirements and leading-indicator reporting, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with internal and external standards
  • Directing response strategies and corrective actions for major safety, environmental, or compliance incidents with potential regulatory, financial, or reputational impact
  • Providing senior oversight on safety violations, partnering with People teams and field leaders to recommend corrective or disciplinary actions and ensuring consistent application of company standards
  • Leading initiatives that drive continuous safety improvement, culture change, and a proactive, initiative-taking safety mindset

What you bring

You are a strategic, decisive, and influential EHS leader with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to operate effectively across diverse operational environments. You combine regulatory expertise with business acumen and are comfortable making authoritative decisions that protect people, operations, and the organization. In addition, you have:

  • A related technical degree (advanced degree is an advantage)
  • Relevant professional licenses, certifications, or designations (highly desirable)
  • 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles, ideally in complex, field-based or multi-site environments
  • Strong experience interpreting and operationalizing complex EHS regulations
  • Proven ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and frontline teams alike
