RF Data Link Architect for Drone Swarm Ops

The Communications Team at Quantum Systemsconsolidates all RF-related activities across communication and sensing. The team owns the complete RF system chain - from antenna integration to signal processing and software - enabling reliable, scalable, and mission-critical communication capabilities for our unmanned systems.

As an RF Application Specialist, you take system-level ownershipof data links and communication behavior, translating RF capabilities into robust, scalable, and production-ready communication solutions.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Own and evolve data link architecturesfor single, multi, and swarm drone operations

• Analyze and optimize data link performanceacross different Concepts of Operation

• Integrate, maintain, and extend data link drivers(e.g. Silvus, Radionor, Zero-Phase, SatCom)

• Design and implement the data link management layerand hardware abstraction

• Develop and integrate network management solutionssupporting multiple communication channels (P2P, 5G, SatCom)

• Optimize data routing, prioritization, and bandwidth usagein congested or constrained environments

• Implement logging, diagnostics, and observabilityfor debugging and post-mission analysis

• Work hands-on with embedded software teams to deliver series-ready communication software

What you bring to the team:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields

• 5+ years of experience in radio data communications

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Rust

• Extensive experience with embedded Linux systems

• Deep understanding of network systems, mesh networking, and network management

• System- and architecture-level thinking with hands-on implementation experience

• Ability to take technical ownershipand drive topics end-to-end

  Nice to have:

• Experience with resilient or adaptive communication systems

• Experience with multi-vehicle or swarm systems
