Responsibilities
You will have an opportunity to…
- Conduct weekly performance analysis using AWR reports.
- Review and optimize SQL queries after every release.
- Refine execution plans for critical queries.
- Continuously monitor storage and data files to identify potential space issues and implement necessary maintenance, such as resizing data files or tablespaces.
- Perform monthly (Prod) and daily (QA) validation of backup and recovery procedures.
- Audit user privileges and access controls as needed.
- Configure database alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address potential issues, such as high resource usage, before they impact application performance.
- Periodically, archive historical data to reduce the size of the database, improving overall system performance and reducing storage costs.
- Conduct SQL code reviews for merge requests in GitHub.
- Regularly monitor database resource utilization and request optimization as needed.
- Provide daily support to developers and assist with database-level issues.
- Create PL/SQL procedures and execute data migration tasks between Maximo databases.
- Export and import dump files to refresh Dev, Preprod, and Training environments.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL query optimization, index management, and storage management.
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle backup and recovery procedures.
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle security auditing and compliance.
- 3+ years of experience with data archiving and migration.
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle alert configuration and monitoring.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL code review and approval.
- 3+ years of experience with Oracle resource utilization monitoring and optimization.
- 3+ years of experience with PL/SQL programming.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
