Who you are

The Data Engineer possesses good knowledge of coding best practices and can build and maintain complex microservices' architecture. They have the ability to collaborate with a team and influence it to create a quality product. The startup environment makes it essential for the Software Developer to work well in a fast-paced environment which requires great time management to be able to meet deadlines. We are looking for someone comfortable with change, organized, and committed to the success of the company.

What you will do

As a Data Engineer your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Analyze, design, and implement features.
• Write well-designed and efficient code, which can be tested and perform units and/or integrated tests.
• Correct anomalies and problems as they arise.
• Test the implemented features to make sure all acceptance criteria are met
• Participate in projects from the initial idea to launch.
• Advise the product owner on technological choices and decisions concerning developments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development activities (agility, automated tests, deployment, etc.).
• Collaborate with the security team to integrate security best practices into software development processes.
• Communicate risks associated with any activity, technology, or processes as you identify them

What your resume shows

Must Haves

• 6+ years of experience in data warehousing and ETL Development
• 3+ years of experience in either Apache Spark or Databricks
• 2+ years of experience with AWS
• 2+ years of experience building, deploying and optimizing data-ingestion solutions
• Experience in working directly with external and internal stakeholders (good communication skills)
• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or engineering (or equivalent professional experience)

Nice to Haves

• Experience in Streaming (Flink, Spark structured streaming, Kafka streams)
• Strong preference for candidates with Apache Kafka, Delta Lakes, Apache Impala, Apache Hive, Apache Beam experience
• Preference is for candidates resident in Quebec
• Experience working in a Startup environment
• Azure experience
• Experience with Cybersecurity
• Bi-lingual in English and French
