Why Pythian:

At Pythian, we are experts in strategic database and analytics services, driving digital transformation and operational excellence. Pythian, a multinational company, was founded in 1997 and started by ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical databases. We quickly earned a reputation for solving tough data challenges. We were there when the industry moved from on-premises to cloud environments, and as enterprises sought more from their data, we expanded our competencies to include advanced analytics.
Today, we empower organizations to embrace transformation and leverage advanced technologies, including AI, to stay competitive. We deliver innovative solutions that meet each client’s data goals and have built strong partnerships with Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and Snowflake. The powerful combination of our extensive expertise in data and cloud and our ability to keep on top of the latest bleeding edge technologies make us the perfect partner to help mid and large-sized businesses transform to stay ahead in today’s rapidly changing digital economy.

Why You?

The Google Workspace Solutions Workspace Solution Architect is a strategic hybrid technical expert, blending solution architecture and hands-on delivery. This role is responsible for the complete customer lifecycle, from pre-sales solutioning and technical demonstrations to post-sales implementation. This expert orchestrates complex, large-scale Google Workspace and change management transformations, ensuring technology adoption translates directly into quantifiable business value and operational efficiency. This role will blend deep technical mastery, consulting acumen, and commercial insight to guide the complete customer lifecycle from defining the strategic vision to overseeing technical realization. The Workspace Solution Architect will act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring they effectively leverage Google Workspace and relevant ISV solutions to meet business objectives. This client facing role is a critical revenue driver and requires unparalleled leadership to influence stakeholders across Sales, Offerings, and Global Delivery teams and work alongside other pre-sales resources like field CTO’s and CE’s.

What will you be doing?

  • Pre-Sales and Solutioning: Lead the most complex, multi-faceted pre-sales engagements, crafting bespoke solution architectures that integrate Google Workspace with existing enterprise systems and ISV solutions. Drive the commercial scoping and technical validation for multi-million dollar deals, partnering with Sales to prepare and deliver customer pitches and solution proposals. Collaborate closely with the Delivery team to create accurate effort estimations and scope, and provide expert review and sign-off on Statements of Work (SOWs) for technical feasibility and risk mitigation. Support sales representatives in the technical pre-sales process by being able to deliver on technical components of a Deployment Planning Workshop and be comfortable in executing Workspace and associated ISV overviews and demos, consulting, scope and SOW reviews.
  • Delivery and Consulting: Drive the technical execution of post-sales engagements, including solution transitions and platform migrations. Oversee and drive the technical strategy for large-scale platform migrations and enterprise-wide Google Workspace deployments, ensuring flawless execution and sustained user adoption. Perform hands-on architectural design, advanced configuration, and serve as the ultimate escalation authority for complex Workspace issues. Maintain a consistent, high utilization/billable target (50%), directly contributing to practice revenue and profitability. Your billable target is subject to modification by Pythian, in its sole discretion, to meet its business needs.
  • Offering Development and Partner Engagement: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, actively working with the Offerings Manager to develop and scale new service offerings and intellectual property around the Google Workspace platform. Cultivate deep, strategic relationships with Google Cloud and key ISV partners to co-develop innovative solutions and drive a robust referral network. Build and Nurture Partner Ecosystems by proactively identifying, building, and maintaining strong relationships with counterparts at Google, including Customer Engineers, Partner Engineers, and sales teams. Engage with a network of ISV partners to stay current on complementary technologies and foster a collaborative environment for joint solution development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Thought Leadership and Customer Enablement: Define and champion the 3-5 year digital workplace roadmap for enterprise clients, aligning Google Workspace investments with core business objectives. Produce high-impact thought leadership content (e.g., white papers, industry conference presentations) that positions the organization as a market leader in Google Workspace transformation. Interact with and explain technical details, issues, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What do we need from you?

  • Experience & Technical Mastery: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT consulting or technical architecture, with at least 5 years specifically focused on designing and deploying enterprise-scale Google Workspace solutions. Technical Proficiency: Deep, demonstrable expertise in the entire Google Workspace suite, including advanced deployment strategies, data migration, security configurations, and the ability to leverage and integrate 3rd party products & solutions.

Must possess a strong understanding of business strategy and aligning technology solutions with measurable business outcomes. Pre-Sales Skills: Demonstrated experience leading the technical component of a sales process, including sophisticated product demonstrations, technical objection handling, and complex scoping. Partner Ecosystem Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the technology partner ecosystem and how to leverage ISV solutions to create comprehensive customer offerings.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical strategies to both technical and non-technical executive audiences. Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to act as a true consultant and trusted advisor, ensuring customers use the Google Workspace platform efficiently and effectively.
