We've been in the self-storage business since 1972, when we opened our very first facility. Today, we're the largest owner and operator of self-storage facilities in the world, with thousands of locations across the U.S. and Europe and more than 170 million net rentable square feet of real estate. But honestly, size isn't what matters most to us - we're focused on making storage easy, accessible, and hassle-free for our customers. With over 5,000 team members from all different backgrounds and life experiences, we've built a workplace that celebrates inclusion and values the diversity each person brings to our team.

What we do day-to-day is pretty straightforward: we help people find the right storage space for their needs, whether they're moving, decluttering, or just need extra room. We offer a wide variety of unit sizes with no long-term commitment, and we've made it simple to reserve and manage your space online or through our app. Beyond the business of storage, we're committed to reducing our environmental footprint through sustainable initiatives like LED lighting, solar power, and eco-friendly practices at our facilities. Being part of the S&P 500 and publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange gives us stability, but it's our people and the customers we serve that really define who we are.
