What you'll be doing
- Support the development and implementation of Priory standardised menus that meet nutritional, cultural, and dietary needs, including allergen and special diet requirements.
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed, documented, and consistently applied across all sites.
- Ensure all internal catering management systems are being used correctly.
- Provide day-to-day operational support to catering teams to ensure smooth delivery of services and address challenges quickly and effectively.
- Support the design and delivery of catering training for catering teams and non-catering teams covering food production and food service across the business.
- Support the monitoring and audit compliance with relevant legislation, including Food Safety Act, Health & Safety, HACCP principles, and allergen regulations.
- Support preparation for and response to internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory complaints.
- Support the effective use of allergen and special dietary management systems are in place and consistently followed.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved appropriately.
What you'll bring to the role
- Proven experience in catering or hospitality management within healthcare, education, or a comparable high-volume, regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, HACCP, and allergen management.
- Experience in developing and embedding operating procedures across multiple sites.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and catering management systems).
- Proven experience of budget management
- Strong management skills which will include performance management.
- Level 4 qualification such as a HND or equivalent in either catering, hospitality, or management;
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or above.
- Willingness for frequent travel nationally.
- Experience working with NHS catering contracts or service-level agreements.
- Familiarity with NHS food and nutrition standards.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEH, HCIMA, or equivalent).
