About Prepared

Emergency Centers, vital to our society, are often constrained by technology that dates back to the landline era. This presents a stark contrast to our current smartphone-centric, socially connected world. At Prepared, we bridge this gap with cutting-edge technology that harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize how emergency calls are handled. Our innovative technology is providing a suite of tools that significantly boost the capabilities of 911 dispatch centers and first responders. With our solutions implemented in over 900 cities across 48 states, we're positively impacting the lives of approximately 75 million people.

Fueled by a recent $16 million Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitzand support from Gradient (Google’s AI Fund), we're accelerating our growth to become an integral part of every emergency call, reshaping global emergency response for a safer, more responsive world.

Joining the Prepared team means more than just a new role. It's a chance to be at the forefront of impact tech that significantly improves public safety and touches lives across the globe. Your work here will have a direct, meaningful impact, contributing to the technological evolution of emergency services. At Prepared, you're not just part of a team; you're a key player in a larger mission to foster a safer, more interconnected world.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly empathetic and strategic ECC Manager to join our team. This crucial role involves transitioning public sector expertise into the private sector, focusing on lead generation and relationship building within the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Points) market. If you are driven by the desire to improve public safety through advanced technology and have a strong network and experience in the PSAP industry, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • PSAP Leadership: Utilize your experience from leadership in a PSAP (or extensive knowledge communicating with PSAP leadership) to guide our strategy and engagement with public safety agencies.

  • Lead Generation: Deliver at least 10 qualified leads per month, focusing on expanding our reach into new agencies where we do not yet have a network.

  • Industry Expertise: Leverage strong PSAP experience to provide insights and develop relationships within the industry.

  • Network Expansion: Tap into existing networks and build new connections to sustain lead generation beyond initial contacts.

  • Travel: Represent Prepared at industry events such as APCO and NENA, and accompany Account Executives on in-person visits to generate leads. Travel is expected to be less than 50%.

  • Regional Focus: Ideally based in or near one of the open regions (Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, or Southwest).

  • Team Collaboration: Work in a goal-driven environment with a structure of 1 ECC Manager supporting 2 Strategic Account Executives and 2 Account Executives.

About You

  • Experience: Significant experience as leader in a PSAP or knowledge of industry. By adapting your extensive PSAP experience and leveraging your network, you will play a pivotal role in advancing public safety technology and making a tangible difference in emergency response.

  • Network: Established credibility and a robust network within the PSAP industry.

  • Empathy: Strong empathetic skills, essential for transitioning clients from the public sector to private sector solutions.

  • Proactive: Self-motivated and proactive in generating leads and building new industry connections.

  • Collaborative: Able to work effectively within a team, supporting account executives and collaborating on strategies.

Pay Transparency

The base compensation for this role is approximately $80,000-$95,000 per year, excluding bonus targets and incentive plans. You are also eligible for employee benefits, company equity grants, participation in Prepared’s unlimited vacation program, and free membership to One Medical.

Revolutionize emergency communications from beginning to end.

In this day and age, public safety agencies can call on an abundance of data to make smarter, more-informed decisions. Still, information friction from caller to telecommunicator to field responder causes ineffective and inefficient responses to 9-1-1 calls.

Telecommunicators are forced to rely on the caller as the sole source of truth. Field responders can only leverage the brief description passed on from the PSAP and thus enter the scene underprepared.

But what if the problem isn't just the use of the data, it's also the data itself? By adding live video and other media from the caller, emergency response evolves. Eyes are on-scene faster, the situation at-hand is clearer, and each stakeholder can make more confident, better informed decisions that result in a higher likelihood that everyone comes home.
