Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Test Specialist to support quality assurance and testing initiatives for critical systems and services. The role focuses on defining and executing test plans, scripts, and scenarios, coordinating the testing process, and producing clear reports. The ideal candidate holds an ISTQB certification, possesses hands-on experience with tools like JIRA and SQL Developer, and is proficient with the WDIO Test Framework and J2EE platforms.

Position Details:

• Location: Remote with occasional travel to Brussels.
• Type: Long-term contract opportunity.
• Eligibility: Open to EU Nationals Only.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Execution

• Define detailed test plans and testing strategies aligned with project goals.
• Construct and execute comprehensive test scenarios and scripts for manual testing.
• Coordinate all aspects of the testing lifecycle and ensure thorough execution.

Defect Tracking and Reporting

• File detailed test results, report bugs, and manage defect tracking using tools like JIRA.
• Provide actionable feedback to the team to enhance the quality of the system.

Data and Tool Management

• Prepare test data using SQL databases for validation and troubleshooting.
• Utilize test management tools and frameworks (WDIO, J2EE) to execute front-end testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure alignment with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills and Knowledge:

• ISTQB Certification is required.
• 3+ years of experience with the WDIO Test Framework.
• Hands-on experience in manual testing processes.
• Advanced knowledge of testing tools including JIRA, with at least 5 years of experience using Atlassian Suite.
• SQL Developer experience (minimum 3 years) for test data preparation.
• Strong proficiency in J2EE platforms for front-end testing and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).

Additional Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience preparing test reports.
• Capability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies in fast-paced environments.
• Attention to detail and a dedicated approach to solving complex problems.

Preferred Experience (Optional):

• Experience with medical insurance domain testing or knowledge of Belgian medical insurance platforms is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with testing infrastructure technologies, including modern software stacks.
