Role Overview: Camphor is seeking a talented and motivated founding engineers to contribute to our innovative solutions for residential real estate brokerages, agents, and other solution providers in the ecosystem. You will collaborate with our team to write state-of-the-art code, delivering exceptional value to our customers. In addition to your role as a software engineer, you will have the opportunity to engage in product, design, and other functions - we all wear multiple hats.
Responsibilities:
Write high-quality, efficient code to deliver innovative solutions to our clientele, including real estate brokerages, agents, and solution providers.
Be versatile, adaptable, and a problem solver: taking on different roles as needed within a startup environment.
Collaborate with the team to enhance our product offerings, ensuring seamless user experiences and optimal functionality.
Develop a deep understanding of our tech stack and actively contribute to ongoing projects.
Work in person at Pear’s beautiful SF Mission Bay office (1800 Owens St).
Qualifications:
Recent/upcoming graduate from a top engineering program OR 2+ years of full time experience as a software engineer
Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
Strong independent work ethic, self-motivation, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Prior internship/work experience at a pre-seed/seed startup preferred.
Familiarity with relevant technologies, including:
Frontend: React/Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript
Backend: FastAPI, Python, PostgreSQL
Misc: AWS, REST APIs, LLMs (function calling, RAG, validation)
Nice to know: OAuth2, workflow automation, web scraping
Benefits:
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 per year + competitive equity (flexible depending upon level of expertise)
