Partners In Health (PIH) is a global health and social justice organization that was co-founded by Dr. Paul Farmer in 1987, based on the belief that everyone deserves quality healthcare. They respond to the moral imperative of providing high-quality healthcare to those in greatest need around the world. The organization strives to ease suffering by placing patients at the center of all care, meeting not only their physical but also their mental, emotional, and daily needs. PIH seeks to address the injustices faced by marginalized populations and believes in equity in health access as a fundamental human right.

Each year, PIH delivers a multitude of healthcare services to some of the most impoverished areas globally, from home visits by community health workers to outpatient visits in supported clinics. In their ongoing commitment to global health equity, they actively partner with local governments and communities. For instance, last year, they provided over 2.1 million home visits and 821,000 COVID-19 screenings. They have shown that effective healthcare can be provided in low-resource settings while also paving the way for health policy transformation and community empowerment. Their mission is clear: quality health is a universal right, and they fight against the systemic inequities that affect health access.
