The Senior Creative Strategist is a key member of the pre-sales team—with the primary task of proactively and reactively developing sales materials and proposals for the sales team and clients. This role manages the most complicated proposals with complex platform extensions and is one of the primary contacts for Outside Inc.’s sales team and Sales Director (s) for sell sheets, sales packages, and client proposals. The Senior Creative Strategist leads many of the highest value proposals with key endemic and non-endemic clients, bringing creative and strategic solutions to each project and partnering across the department to deliver best-in-class proposals on deadline. The Senior Creative Strategist is the keeper of our network’s story—the positioning in the market and against the competitive set. The Senior Creative Strategist reports to the Director of Creative Strategy with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Media Strategy + Planning.

Responsibilities:

Professional demeanor is a must for all positions at Outside, Inc. In addition to courteous, friendly, businesslike behavior, the following qualifications are fundamental to this position:

  • Spearhead cross-platform, idea-driven marketing solutions, plans, and integrated branded content programs and proposals
  • Be a collaborative team player on a dedicated team of creative strategists
  • Collaborate with Director and Senior Director on best practices, team operations, and optimizations
  • Lead RFP proposal creation including making decks, gathering research, and positioning the audience based on client KPI’s
  • Deliver high quality, creative, first-to-market, high impact, and unique ideas that anchor industry-leading digital, social, and print campaigns to endemic and non-endemic partners
  • Assist in the development of sales materials across the primary brands including but not limited to:
    • Media Kit
    • Print/Issue sell sheets
    • Monthly brand updates for the sales team
    • Innovative program sell sheets (sales packages that require a dedicated sales sheet (s)
  • Coordinate with art team on design of sales materials and pitch decks as needed
  • Collaborate with Media Planners and other Ad Ops staff to ensure campaign offerings are accurate and able to be delivered
  • Partner with Custom Content Team to workshop and convey creative content concepts within proposals
  • Manage and enforce deadlines on an individual and cross-department basis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Provide top-quality service to internal clients (sales team, sales management, executive team, editors) and external clients & agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in advertising, media, and/or content creation
  • A deep understanding of digital media, social media and experiential marketing
  • Organizational skills are a must to succeed on this fast-paced team
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a dynamic environment with shifting deadlines
  • Proactive and positive approach to problem solving and in working with people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Deep understanding of G-Suite, Google Analytics
  • An interest in new, emerging technology (and a fast learner!)

Remote jobs and those jobs that can be located in Boulder, Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $65,000 to $85,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and many more. The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for this role, and may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
