Fullstack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a passionate backend engineer to join our early team. You will work closely with the co-founders and define the product and technology together and have a lot of room for flexibility.

What you ll be doing

• Own ideas from inception to execution.
• Working directly with founders to define the product and engineering roadmap.
• Designing and implementing backend functionality, architecture and more. You get to work independently and be self-directed and deliver innovative solutions.
• You will pave the way for the company to scale to millions of transactions and power digital commerce flows in a unique way.
• Write clean and maintainable code that is properly tested and reviewed
• Build automated test cases to ensure utmost quality of the platform

Skills we would love to see

• You have built backend products preferably in the B2B space that have scaled.
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering or its equivalent related experience.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant development experience.
• Experience leading/building a team
• Has built and owned multiple modules and services in one of your roles.
• We use the following technologies. Experience in the following areas is preferred.
  • Experienced and proficient working with at least one of these languages - Scala, Java, Python, Elixir, Go or any functional programming language.
  • Hands on experience working with relational databases such as Postgres/MySQL
  • Experience working with AWS or equivalent cloud services
  • Experience working with Git
• Effective written/oral communication skills and able to communicate ideas effectively to a corporate audience and excellent interpersonal skills

Nice to have

• Experience working with backend products that have scaled preferably in the B2B space
• Experience with Micro service architecture
• Experience with large scale distributed applications
• Experience in payments (acquiring, issuing, digital wallets, remittances)
• Experience working with API frameworks such as Django, Ruby on Rails, NodeJS/Express
