The role

Platform Engineers at One are responsible for providing a stable, secure, and efficient platform that upholds our high standards of security and compliance, ultimately ensuring customer trust and business success.

Besides writing, reviewing, and shipping code, engineers collaborate with others across the company, from product, design, and data to, customer support, ops, and compliance. Software Engineers at One are highly technical, communicative, and emotionally intelligent.

This role is responsible for:

• Solving complex problems that arise at scale. We deal with real-world money movement, sensitive financial data at scale, and are creating novel financial mechanics with no real precedent.

• Maintaining and Innovating on a suite of platform components that are used by the engineering organization.

• Developing and maintaining robust and secure infrastructure, optimizing for high transaction volumes, data sensitivity, and compliance needs.

• Building Internal Documentation for the tools and services that we develop. As a growing and remote organization, both written and verbal communication pathways are key to our success.

You bring

• 10+ years of engineering experience and proven skills in building secure, reliable platforms; bonus if you have an understanding of financial industry-specific challenges and regulations.

• A relentless focus on securing sensitive financial data, and ensuring platform reliability and performance.

• Passion for your craft and care for the people you work with. You value quality, communication, and culture.

• Initiative to constantly improve platform resilience and efficiency, especially in the fast-paced fintech environment. We have a bias toward taking action.

• A proactive ownership mentality, constantly improving platform resilience and efficiency, especially in the fast-paced fintech environment. We have a bias toward taking action.

• Experience with and a desire to work in or learn a functional style of programming. Our backend is written in a style very similar to (Scala, Haskell), so if monoids and monads are exciting on Mondays, then you will fit right in.

• The will to design and build high-performance distributed systems that solve our customers' most pressing needs.

Pay Transparency

The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $275,000. Pay is generally based upon the level, complexity, responsibility, and job duties / requirements of the specific position. We then source candidates with the requisite skills, expertise, education, training, and experience. Leveling Philosophy

In order to thoughtfully scale the company and avoid downstream inequities, we’ve adopted a flat titling structure at One. Though we may occasionally post a role externally with a prefix such as “Senior” to reflect the external level of the position, we do not use prefixes in titles like that internally unless in a position which manages a team. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.
